A Visit to a Hill Station - English Essay
Life is a tale of adventures. These adventures have many shapes such as attractive places and picnic parties. Traveling provides us with blessed breaks to change hard our routines. They are also a source of enjoyment and relaxation. My adventuresome nature promoted me to visit Murree Hills. Murree, a beautiful valley situated between the huge mountains of the Himalayas range.
“Travel impart new vigor to the mind.”
(Seneca)
Last October, my friends decided to visit the Murree Hills. The idea was so exciting and pleasant. All the arrangements were perfect.
The journey started very early in the morning. The mellow sunshine, the cool breeze, and above all the scene of sunrise was amazing. During the journey, we sang songs, raised slogans, and shared gossip and jokes. We reached Rawalpindi at 10 o’clock. We rested for a while in Rawalpindi and purchased many things of daily needs.
We reached Murree at 02:00 p.m, on the same day. The weather was gusty and dusty. The huge mass of clouds appeared in the winking of an eye. A cool breeze was blowing, birds were diving up and down on the waves of the cool breeze. And that time it seemed as if:
“Nature is standing in front of us in all its beauty and grace.”
After our breakfast, we walked to Kashmir point and enjoyed ourselves with its scenic beauty. When it was dark, we made it to our Hotel. A gentle shower of rain began to fall that created a musical sound.
The next day we went to Patriata, the southeast of Murree Hills. We enjoyed having a ride on the chair lift. It was an interesting experience. Running clouds, blowing breeze, and bird's eye view of a Hill station, it seemed like a dream.
“The best part of the beauty is that which no picture can describe.”
(Francis Bacon)
In our ten days tour of Murree Hills, we enjoyed hiking and did a lot of shopping from Murree mall. The beauty of Murree Hills left a long-lasting impression on my mind. Those days were well-spent days of my life. No doubt such days are rare and unforgettable.
“A thing of beauty is a joy forever.”
(John Keats)
